What Made You Angry Today?

So an American television host by the name of Laura Ingraham tweeted something that didn’t really make a lot of sense for an educated grown adult to say.

She says that the US should not deal with any country that still has wet markets to which I have two questions. Firstly, how does she expect those of low income to afford their daily groceries? Is she going to sponsor them directly? And secondly, does she actually know what a wet market is?
Because from what I’ve seen, the American media has seriously fucked up the initial phase of defining what a wet market actually is because they’re associating them with the live exotic animal markets you’d see on VICE news or on whatever Youtube channel that documents the wild parts of our world.
This is the actual definition of what a wet market is,
“A wet market is a marketplace selling fresh meat, fish, produce, and other perishable goods as distinguished from "dry markets" that sell durable goods such as fabric and electronics”.

A wet market IS NOT a specific marketplace in which exotic animals fit for adventurous palettes are butchered and sold for God’s sake.
Another thing is that Singapore despite having wet markets, has never started a epidemic, pandemic nor an outbreak of any sort while the US on the other hand has birthed multiple viruses throughout the century despite not having any wet markets.

Funny isn’t it? How the ignorant in developed nations can still somehow outnumber the intellectuals in an era where we have search engines readily available to us at the push of a button.
